EADA (Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act)
The EADA is an annual report that is required by the federal government. The report includes information on athletic participation, staffing, revenues and expenses for every sports team at the institution. The gathered information reflects the institution’s commitment to maintaining an equitable status for all men’s and women’s sports. GSR/ASR (Graduation Success Rate/Academic Success Rate)
The Academic Success Rate Report (ASR) is mandated by the NCAA and compiled by Division II institutions annually. Unlike the Graduation Success Rate Report (GSR) used by Division I institutions, the ASR includes data on transfer students and student-athletes not receiving athletic scholarships. Therefore, the ASR captures the financial aid model of Division II. The report dispels the myth that student-athletes do not perform well academically. In fact, the report illustrates that Division II student-athletes perform far better than the general student body. Please click on the link below to review Dominican University New York's ASR data.
Enough is Enough Legislation
On July 7, 2015 Governor Cuomo signed the "Enough is Enough" Legislation in state law.
The new law, the cornerstone of Governor Cuomo’s “Enough is Enough” campaign, is intended to encourage victims and witnesses of sexual misconduct to report such incidents, and sets forth uniform policy and reporting requirements for all higher education institutions. Such requirements can be found under the new Article 129-B of the New York Education Law, which was added by the legislation.
Higher education institutions must be in compliance with most of the Article 129-B requirements within 90 days of its passage, which is October 5, 2015.
